The combination of O2 Barrier™ and cork is recyclable, 99.99% natural and almost completely biodegradable. O2™ contains no chlorine and is safe in the environment. The presence of O2™ adds no more to the cork than does the paraffin and silicone with which the corks are treated.
O2™ allows cork producers to better utilize their cork stocks by improving the quality of all grades of corks. The better utilization of cork resources means that the quality will improve generally, increasing cork’s ability to resist substitution by alternative synthetic closures and screw caps.
With consumers becoming increasingly environmentally concerned, they will be reassured by having the choice of using a natural product from a sustainable resource.
